Fear the woman forced to carry her rapist’s baby.

Fear the mother forced to bury her child.

Fear the ones denied gender affirming care.

Fear the cat lady who has her claws out.

Stay furious. Stay focused.

We can hate the people who have been taught to hate. We can continue the destructive blame game. We can sink deeper into the kryptonite of radical change: cynicism. We can paralyze ourselves in fear of what’s to come.
Or . . .
We can really feel all the anger and sadness, fully bottle it all up, let it fuel the antiracist and feminist power within us, and get back to our constructive work. The best way to protect ourselves from what’s to come is for us to construct what’s to come.
